Russian courts will be publishing verdicts on the Internet from July
All the Russian courts will have its own sites, and since 1 July 2010 they must publish its decisions in the public domain on the Internet. This measure is aimed at enhancing transparency of the courts, as a key task of the National plan to counter corruption.
Moreover, this work has already begun, and since 2008 a specialized database, which contains the solution to all 112 commercial courts, all judicial decisions are published on the portal within five days. Such sites will have all the courts of general jurisdiction, despite the fact that the experiment was started with an arbitration.
Meanwhile, a prominent lawyer Mikhail Barshchevsky doubted that such a plan will be implemented. According to him, for arbitration courts moving to electronic system is not a problem, because there is an electronic document management for 8 years and it’s publicy open for 2 years. As for the courts of general jurisdiction, it is almost impossible — because of their enormous workload and a number of other reasons.
