Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Russia signed a historic agreement in the U.S.
June 24, 2010, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Foundation Skolkovo, representing the Russian Federation, announced an agreement to explore ways to cooperate in the field of education and research in Russia. MIT and the Foundation Skolkovo sign a framework agreement on this in Washington during the visit of RF President in the U.S..
As expected the agreement, MIT and the Foundation Skolkovo jointly identify opportunities for MIT to engage in education and research activities in collaboration with leading universities and research institutes in Russia, selected at this stage. Among the options for cooperation — a network of joint research laboratories, where researchers will work at MIT and Russia, as well as the creation of new educational institutions in the Moscow Skolkovo. MIT will also consider the possibility of joining the Fund Skolkovo as one of the partners. Among the current composition of the founders — RAS, Rosnano, MER, Bauman. Bauman, etc.
